Just Thanking - Twelve Songs of PRAISE and WORSHIP

This site is about Praise and Worship Music that we want to share with you and hope that it will bless you as much as it has blessed us at St. Peter's by the Lake Community Church, Johannesburg, South Africa. We have been led in a wonderful way and the music ministry has grown to something beautiful which compels us to share it with others.

We call it Serious Worship because the music does not only express the lighter side of faith, but also the depths that we go through as Christians, that are often ignored in modern worship music. This music is filled with joy and the celebration of living with our Lord and what He does in our lives, but also with the struggles, problems and doubts Christians experience. We hope that it can strengthen you in your walk with our Lord. Just a little sample of the title song: Just Thanking!

These songs were written and composed by Elisabeth Dedekind. She started writing these songs in September of 2005 and within a few weeks wrote enough songs for a CD. This gift of writing songs was given to her after a very difficult period in her life in which she learnt to surrender completely to our Lord. The song Surrender expresses something of these experiences. Here is a sample of surrender ....Surrender!

She was then asked to produce a CD of her songs and also given support for this project by many different people. This led to the Just Thanking CD, a project that became much more than we ever envisaged. It is a desire of the composer that the songs are used to praise and worship the Lord in many churches around the world. The words and chords of the songs are available for you on a PDF file. May you be encouraged through this music to surrender to the Lord. That is what our lives are all about. Perhaps you are lead to pray the following prayer now:

LORD, I just want to thank you for your love for me and for the many ways in which you have blessed me. Teach me to surrender to you and open my eyes to the many blessings that you bring about in my life. Amen
